The Journey
Bath & Biscuits has been serving the Land Park and surrounding Sacramento area for over 15 years. Lisa Geren took over as owner in June of 2020. The last two years have been quite a journey. Change is never easy, but change during the worst pandemic in our lifetime requires a special kind of perseverance, not only for me and my staff but for our clients as well. Due to shutdowns, illness, and change of staff, our clients have had to deal with canceled appointments, reschedules, and limited services. Yet, our devoted clients were patient and have persevered along side us. But we have also been very fortunate compared to other businesses. While other industries suffered greatly, the pet industry flourished. While people were working from home, the decided it was a good time to adopt a pet. Shelters were cleared out; breeders had long waiting lists. And groomers were overwhelmed with record number of phone calls requesting appointments for their new family members. Most of us went month and months without getting our own hair cut -- we discovered our friends' true hair color through this pandemic, but pet parent panicked every time the governor spoke on Fridays, wondering if we would be open for their pup's schedule appointments. Sure, they wanted their dogs to look beautiful, but they also knew that grooming is essential to a dog's health - their coat, their skin, their ears, their eyes. Groomers are often the first to recognize a health program in the dog's they groom. This is why we did everything we could to stay open within the guidelines of the state and the CDC, and to ensure that our staff and our clients were safe.
As we have come through the worst part of Covid-19, we still remain vigilant in keeping up with the CDC recommendations. All of my staff is vaccinated. We love caring for our doggy clients, connecting with their humans, and creating everlasting relationships. We treat your pets as if they were our own, so you can trust your furbaby is in good hands while here with us.
